Advantages of stainless steel wire mesh in food screening applications

Stainless steel wire mesh can be used to screen a variety of things. For example, metal powder, sand, chocolate powder, flour, toner powder, sugar, powder and binder all require screening. Although there are many materials that can be used to make wire mesh, nickel-containing stainless steel meshes have many important advantages in both production and maintenance operations. The largest market for stainless steel mesh is the pharmaceutical industry, followed by the food industry.

Most of the stainless steel mesh produced by McGee is 304 and 316L stainless steel mesh. 316L is considered a more hygienic steel because it is unlikely to react with powders and foods such as flour, dried ingredients, tea, artificial sweeteners, condiments, spices, and the like. Both wire mesh and machine are made of stainless steel and must withstand harsh weather, chemical attack, abrasion, acidic ingredients and corrosive agents, harsh chemical cleaners and hot water washes. The hardest of the products to be screened is the metal powder.

Stainless steel is better able to withstand the abrasion of these materials as well as cleaning agents. Stainless steel is much more durable than nylon in the screening of abrasive products such as metal powder or ceramics. The stainless steel mesh is rigid and therefore better able to block oversized materials that may become stuck or pinched when passing through the screen. . It can also maintain its specific dimensions under high temperature conditions during high temperature operation and washing. These harsh conditions can cause the synthetic screen to shrink and become brittle.

Since the stainless steel mesh is well cleaned and does not rust, the same stainless steel mesh can be used to process a variety of materials and materials of different colors. For example, chocolate powder can be very troublesome for the cleaning staff. After cleaning, the synthetic mesh soft cover may not be completely dry, and residual moisture may cause the material to adhere to the protective cover during the next production process, and the stainless steel mesh does not have such problems. Stainless steel mesh does not generate static electricity during the production process, and sometimes this problem occurs with synthetic mesh. In terms of longevity, the durability of stainless steel mesh is product specific and depends on the operating environment. However, if handled properly, they can be used almost indefinitely. "As far as the screen is concerned, I have not found any better material than stainless steel." Synthetic materials may be cheaper in the short term, but 20 to 30 may be replaced in a month, while stainless steel wire mesh is changed every six months, and the final cost of stainless steel wire mesh is the lowest.
