The difference between SUS316 and SUS304

Stainless steel wire mesh can be divided into SUS316 and SUS304 according to the material. They can be used for sieving and filtration under acidic and alkaline environmental conditions, and the petroleum industry as a mud network, a chemical fiber industry, a sieve screen, and electroplating.

SUS 304 stainless steel wire mesh has excellent stainless steel corrosion resistance and good resistance to intergranular corrosion. 304 stainless steel mesh has strong corrosion resistance. It also has good corrosion resistance to alkaline solutions and most organic and inorganic acids. It is mainly used for screening and filtration under acid and alkali environmental conditions, and also has applications in mining, chemical, food, pharmaceutical and other industries.


SUS 316 stainless steel wire mesh has good corrosion resistance, atmospheric corrosion resistance and high temperature strength. It can be used under harsh conditions and is less susceptible to corrosion in brine, sulphur water or in halogen salts than other chrome-nickel stainless steels. It is mainly used for screening and filtration under acid and alkali environmental conditions, and also has applications in mining, chemical, food, pharmaceutical and other industries.

SUS316 compared to SUS304, the product characteristics and uses are basically the same, but the 316 stainless steel wire mesh has strong corrosion resistance compared to the 304 stainless steel wire mesh, and has outstanding product advantages in terms of resistance to marine and corrosive industrial atmospheres.
