Composition and characteristics of stainless steel wire mesh material

The materials of stainless steel wire mesh can be divided into many types, and they also contain different ingredients.

The most widely used stainless steel material is 304.

304 stainless steel wire mesh has good corrosion resistance, heat resistance, low temperature strength and mechanical properties, good hot workability such as stamping and bending, and no heat treatment and hardening (non-magnetic, use temperature -196 ° C ~ 800 ° C). 304L stainless steel wire mesh has much less carbon content than 304, and 304L has better pitting resistance than 304 at welding points or other treated places.

Chemical composition: C: ≤0.08, Si: ≤1.0, Mn: ≤2.0, Cr: 18.0 to 20.0, Ni: 8.0 to 10.5, S: ≤0.03, P: ≤0.035, N≤1.0.

304 stainless steel mesh has a beautiful surface and diversified use possibilities, good corrosion resistance and high strength, so the possibility of using thin plates is high, high temperature oxidation resistance and high strength, so it can resist fire, normal temperature processing, that is easy to plastic processing, surface treatment, so simple, simple maintenance, high smoothness and good welding performance.

Compared with 304, 304L is more resistant to corrosion and 304L contains less carbon. 304L has excellent resistance to grain boundary corrosion after welding or stress relief; it can also maintain good corrosion resistance without heat treatment. The operating temperature is -196 ° C-800 ° C.

Stainless steel wire mesh material with better corrosion resistance: 316 stainless steel

316 stainless steel is a general term for stainless steel and acid-resistant steel. Du

e to the addition of Mo, its corrosion resistance, atmospheric corrosion resistance and high temperature strength are particularly good, which can be used under harsh conditions; excellent work hardening (non-magnetic). Generally used in anti-corrosive environment, as well as medical equipment and daily necessities.

The two most commonly used stainless steels 304 and 316 (or 1.4308 and 1.4408 corresponding to German / European standards), the main difference between 316 and 304 in chemical composition is that 316 contains Mo, and it is generally accepted that 316 has better corrosion resistance , More resistant to corrosion than 304 in high temperature environments. So in high temperature environment, engineers usually choose 316 material parts.
