The Causes And Solution Of Blockage In The Stainless Steel Mesh Filtration

Stainless steel mesh is widely used in the filtration industry due to it’s perfect performance of anti-acid, anti-alkali, temperature resistance, wear resistance and other characteristics.

However, the stainless steel mesh may be blocked when using. Because most of the material particles to be filtered are irregular, the causes of blockage in the stainless steel mesh filtration are various and generally divided into the following points:

1. Contain a large number of particles which is close to the separation point. The stainless steel mesh aperture is less than or equal to the particle diameter, which causes the particles to get stuck.

2. When screening various viscous powdery materials, the powdery materials often stick to stainless steel mesh and that causes blockage.

3. The screened objects contains fibrous material and many flake particles.

4. The wire diameter of the weave stainless steel mesh is too thick, which causes blockage easily.

When the screening object contains fine particle and a large number mud,the moisture plays a decisive role in the clogging of the stainless steel screen. When the moisture in the material is more than 5%,if there is no way to dry the material, it’s better to targeted selection of screens and apertures.

When the moisture is greater than 8%, wet screening should be used.

For materials with more flake particles, it is necessary to change the material crushing mode and the particle size matching of different crushing process. Selecting the appropriate solution by the causes of stainless steel mesh blockage is important.
