About the mesh, opening and thickness of stainless steel wire mesh

Stainless steel wire mesh is often used in our daily production. We are not very familiar with the details of the mesh and opening of stainless steel wire mesh. So what exactly is going on?

First talk about the opening degree of stainless steel wire mesh: it is an important parameter describing the width, size, and aperture of the wire mesh. The degree of opening of the screen has more influence on the fineness of the ball and the characters of the screen printing screen product. The opening degree actually represents the width of the mesh, which is expressed by the square root of the mesh area enclosed by the two lines of the warp and weft of the mesh (usually in micrometers, 1 micrometer = 1000 mm). Therefore, as the length of one side of the mesh is longer, the degree of opening is larger, but the

same degree of opening has different printing effects due to the different materials and methods of weaving the screen.

The thickness of stainless steel wire mesh is the distance between the surface and the bottom surface, which is generally measured in millimeters (mm) or micrometers (um). The thickness is determined by the diameter of the screen, and the amount of ink passing through the screen is related to the thickness.

The mesh of stainless steel wire mesh is the number of meshes per square centimeter of wire mesh. The unit used to express the mesh number in the wire mesh specifications is hole ∕ cm or line ∕ cm. Countries and regions that use the imperial unit of calculation, and the screen mesh number is expressed by hole inches or line inches.
